A brand new agri-tourism facility built on a restored old farm was opened the past year and is happy to welcome you.
The double-bed rooms are furnished with poor-style furniture and wrought iron beds, and are provided with every mod cons: TV, air conditioning, warmer and bathroom.
The restaurant hall, warmed in the winter with a nice fireplace, has only 50 seats, as a guarantee of the quality of the service and of the intimate atmosphere that guests can enjoy at "Il Granaio".
All the dishes, rigorously belonging to the rich and savoury local cuisine, are prepared in the farmhouse kitchen.
The "Granaio" menu proposes simple country appetizers with the traditional Modican "scacce", made with tomato, parsley or ricotta; the first dishes are the "cavati alla norma" and the "ravioli al sugo di maiale"; second dishes are "costata or salsiccia arrosto" and "coniglio alla stimpirata", with plenty of fresh vegetables; finally, after fruit or sweet, there's still room for an, obviously Sicilian, "gelo al limone".
It is important to mention that all the meat comes from the very farm breeding.
One of the owners, Giovanni Di Raimondo, will always suggest, and even follow you to the best tours on the area. And in the summer you will find seats and beach umbrellas available on the stunning beach of Sampieri (only 20 km away from "Il Granaio"), with its golden Saharan sand, blown by the wind over the South-East coast of Sicily.
